The Old Town of Marbella

A sweet, cosy apartment in the heart of the old town, la Plaza de los Naranjos. Dine out, relax in the shade, just a stroll to the beach, la vida en el sur, Andalucía, España.
The apartment has all you need. A comfortable salon with a dining table for 4. A full kitchen you may never want to use. A great view into the cobbled pedestrian alleys below & to the Square of Oranges. A modern bathroom with a large shower to freshen up. A comfortable double bed & comfy sofa bed. Car parking & free Wifi.

This central location is a great place for a short trip over the weekend or for a few weeks at any time of the year. Come alone, together, bring family and friends, the apartment sleeps four.
The apartment is North facing, a real bonus in this sunny climate, even in winter. A winter that feels like summer on many days, 3000 hours of sunshine a year, 320 days, the most in Europe.
The kitchen allows you to cook for the whole family, but then you have it all around you, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
There is a comfortable sofa, TV, fast internet wlan / Wifi, the balcony overlooking the street, watch, relax, work a little, enjoy a lot.
There is ample wardrobe space in the bedroom, a wide, queen size double bed, a large ceiling fan.
The salon has a large sofa with a chaise longue. It folds out into a wide, comfy bed. The dining table seats 4 and has a large opening to the kitchen for convenience.
In the old town there is a slow start in the morning with shops usually opening around 10.00, there is siesta time from 14.00 and a late afternoon start to avoid the heat in summer and to rest enough during the rest of the year. During siesta time the beach will be deserted as well in summer, for a reason, take note.
Access is between two shops in true old town fashion. The apartment is just 2 levels up with nobody above you. There is an iron gate with a bell, intercom and buzzer.
The old town is pedestrianised, there is no car access. But you don't need a car here. Just come by bus, shuttle or taxi from the airport.
But you may be traveling around by car and so there is car parking available just a few yards away in a multi-storey car park adjacent to the typical market hall.

The neighbourhood

The old town has all the restaurants around so that you many never want to use the kitchen. Too many places to name some. Take your pick for Spanish breakfast and indulge into fresh "churros", we'll tell you where. Lunch and dinner could be in one of the little alleyways around or by the sea front - the “Paseo Maritimo”. You will find local and international food, healthy local produce, vegetarian food, sea food near the fishing port and food from all around the World.

The best thing is, Marbella is open all year around. You can come any time of the years and shops, restaurants are open. There is normal life of a truly international community around.
You can go for short strolls through the town to the parks or for longer walks along the sea front stretching for miles along the beach or the well-built promenade, stretching for miles to the East and West to the next cities. Go jogging, take a bike, a skateboard or rollers, and just walk as far as you want to the next Chiringuito.
There are gyms, a modern indoor swimming pool and all types of sport facilities around. Marbella is also well known for health therapies, yoga and natural healing. Sailing, surfing, paddle surf, diving, e-mountain biking, tennis, golf, horse riding, climbing and lots more is available all year round.

Getting around

From here all the venues are in walking distance, supermarkets, shops, restaurants, the market hall, the parks, sport facilities, the beach.
You could walk up to the shopping centre La Canada, but in summer it is a bit hot and uphill. Just walk a few yards down to Alameda Park and catch a bus or a taxi. From here you will get all around town, to Puerto Banus and to the local “Estación de Autobuses” for journeys a little further afield including from and to the airports. The more important airport is in Malaga, to the East. Another option for catching a flight is Gibraltar not much further away to the West.
There are great day trips available to Ronda, Malaga city, Gibraltar, Cordoba and Granada. Seville and Cadiz are a little further, but equally worth a trip, maybe over night. And, do not forget considering a trip to walk El Caminito del Rey de Ardales. People travel here from all over the World.
Taxis are also available at the Alameda Park.
If you come by car there is car parking available just a few yards away in a multi-storey car park right on the edge of the old town for a small charge.
